I think Sarah Palin is a very intriguing woman. She has demonstrated you can be down-to-earth and still do a great job in politics. There is a reason why Obama and Biden sent that kind letter to her after learning that she was selected as the Republican running-mate. They know she is a rising star in politics that brings something new and different that America is craving from their politicians and she deserves to be recognized, regardless of her party preferences.
However I personally feel that she is being brought in too late and unfortunately, on the wrong ticket. Obama's campaign has been about real change from day one. McCain is trying to appear that he is for change by bringing in Palin. Palin is certainly a bright spot on his ticket and I hope she considers national offices in the future. However this year, it really should go to Obama & Biden. I know they would continue to work with Palin on energy ideas she has in regards to Alaska and the lower 48 states. Please do not confuse this election for a tug-of-war between who is most favored.
America needs change. REAL change. McCain, even with Palin by his side, is not going to bring the kind of positive change that Obama and Biden have to offer. I believe Obama has raised the bar to a whole new level that as a nation, we should have done a long time ago.
I like McCain, he served our country well and honorably. I like Sarah Palin and what she stands for, but I think her time in the national spotlight is yet to come. I look forward to seeing her career blossom in the future.
If we want real change, the answer is clear:
Obama/Biden 2008.
